The Black Student Union believes each person has been created for a purpose. It seeks to consolidate this view with a Christ-centered educational experience that teaches about the history, culture, and social experiences of African Americans, Africans, and other ethnic and cultural minorities. The Black Student Union also seeks to facilitate a community base on faith-based accountability and spiritual mentorship. Members of the BSU will also encourage the spiritual development of undergraduates, graduates, and professors. Alumni of the CBU Black Student Union will be able to boast the wealth of knowledge they obtained from the community of California Baptist University to glorify God and distinguish themselves in the workplace and the world. They will also be able to articulate how their specific cultural experiences were acknowledged and valued by our community of faith. The Formula SAE competition challenges teams of university undergraduate and graduate students to design, fabricate, develop, and compete with small, formula-style vehicles. The competition is an engineering education competition that requires performance demonstration of vehicles in a series of events, both off track and on track, against. Each competition gives teams the chance to demonstrate their creativity and understanding of various engineering disciplines and compete directly with other students from around the world.

CBU Motorsports' goal is to help students excel at practical engineering skills in a number of categories, increase their work experience, create desirable job candidates after graduation, and navigate the engineering field from a Christian perspective.

The Culture and Community Club's mission is to offer students a creative space to serve their community through fun events and community service opportunities. In the past, our club has hosted numerous biblically-rooted charity events such as our "Easter Basket" and our "Cookies and Cards" events where students contributed to providing an important service to Strong Families, a ministry for fostering children and caring for families in need and local veterans, elderly communities where cards were delivered to encourage those in need. We also host an annual "World Anthropology Day" event in which we recognize various cultures through educational activities as well as provide insight into Anthropology as a discipline for the CBU community. It's a form of academic connection (as part of the CORE FOUR at CBU).
